What to know before you apply

A few essentials about serving on the Built for More 2026 staff.

Dates & Location

Four weeks in July 2026, hosted at Greater Life Worship Center International, Lake Alfred, FL. Monday–Friday.

Hours & Commitment

8:30 AM – 2:30 PM weekdays, with staff arriving early to prepare for campers. Mandatory staff training and orientation before week one.

Compensation

Stipends available for select positions. Mentor and volunteer roles may be unpaid service positions — details discussed at interview.

Background Checks

All staff and mentors must pass a background check and provide two references before working with campers.

Faith & Conduct

We are a Christ-centered camp. Staff are expected to model integrity, kindness, and our statement of faith.

Camp Director

Lead the camp's vision, staff, and daily operations across all four weeks.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day camp operations and safety
  • Lead and supervise all staff and volunteers
  • Coordinate with parents, partners, and church leadership
  • Manage schedules, budgets, and curriculum delivery

Qualifications

  • 21+ years old with leadership experience (camp, ministry, education)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Background check & references required
  • Heart for youth and Christ-centered leadership

Assistant Camp Director

Support the Camp Director and step in to lead when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily operations and logistics
  • Supervise instructors, mentors, and volunteers
  • Handle on-site issues, scheduling, and parent communication
  • Fill in for the Director when absent

Qualifications

  • 21+ years old with prior camp or youth leadership experience
  • Excellent team and people-management skills
  • Background check & references required
  • Dependable, flexible, and mission-driven

Camp Instructor

Teach engaging classes in STEM, arts, life skills, leadership, or athletics.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons or activities
  • Create a safe, encouraging classroom environment
  • Track attendance and student progress
  • Collaborate with mentors and fellow instructors

Qualifications

  • 18+ years old; teaching, coaching, or subject expertise preferred
  • Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for youth
  • Background check & references required
  • Comfortable working with ages 8–17

Youth Mentor

Walk alongside small groups of campers — encourage, listen, and disciple.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a small group of campers throughout the day
  • Build positive relationships and model Christ-like character
  • Support instructors during classes and activities
  • Help with check-in, meals, transitions, and field trips

Qualifications

  • 18+ years old (older teens may apply with a reference)
  • Heart for mentorship, faith, and youth empowerment
  • Background check & references required
  • Energetic, patient, and a strong communicator
